It's sort of difficult to know how to make any sort of introduction here, especially when I'm about to try and keep it honest and open. Hi, my name's Bryan Singer, I work in the film industry - predominantly as a director. My most recent project is, of course, Superman Returns, which we filmed down in Sydney for a very long time. Is that enough?

Well, if I'm going to write a little more, I suppose I need to say that I was given some sort of bingo card of minorities at birth, and have tried to tick as many off as possible since then. I was the only child of parents who adopted me and then divorced when I was nine. I grew up Jewish in a very Catholic community. It's widely known that I'm gay (although I don't agree that Superman is!). I'm doing very well when it comes to the bingo card, though these all lead to an overwhelming sense of loneliness. I haven't wondered about my birth parents for a long time now, I by far prefer to assume they were Kryptonian royalty, who had to send me away for my own good before the planet was destroyed. You know, Jor-El, Kal-El, Bryan-El, there's a bit of a pattern there.

My films are my life (if you haven't seen Superman yet, you might know Usual Suspects, Public Access, Apt Pupil or the first and second X-Men films -- or House, of course!), and although I'm taking a little time off now (to write comics for Marvel, along with my screenwriters, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris) I can promise that my next big project - the Superman Returns sequel - will be mindblowing. I'm very proud of what we managed to accomplish with this film, thanks to an amazing cast and crew, not to mention our very own Clark and Superman himself, Brandon Routh. Everyone should go and see it, and then go and see the IMAX version, too. This is the sort of picture you really do need to see in 3-D.

I live in Los Angeles and I'm often interested in going out to clubs, bars, or just for sushi, something like that. Pretty much anyone can feel free to drop me a line at bryansinger1965, I look forward to hearing from you. And see Superman.
